About us

Why We Exist

Every foot is unique.
Why do we still wear the same-sized shoes?

The shoe industry is built around an average foot that doesn’t exist. Wide feet, narrow heels, bunions, length differences, conditions that come with standing all day — most shelves don’t carry your shape, only your size. We started FITASY because we believe that custom-fitted shoes should be accessible, affordable and plant-friendly, yet we live in a world where shoes are still standard sized and mass-produced, leaving countless people ignored and waste.

Our Story

It started with a question no one could shake.
Four friends — Eugene, Kevin, Jian, and Justin — were chatting when someone looked down and said what so many people had felt but never acted on: Why don't my shoes actually fit?

They went quiet. Because they all knew the feeling. Billions of people, walking through their lives in shoes built for nobody in particular.
That room, that silence, that question — that was where Fitasy was born.
What followed wasn't easy. They spent countless nights in basement and garage, tirelessly building the code, prototypes, and endless tests, failing and rebuilding and refusing to quit. Driven not by certainty, but by the deep conviction that people deserved better. Eventually, they found the solution, where the pieces finally came together — a phone-based foot scan, fit-first design, and personalized 3D printing that creates each shoe just for you.

Today, Fitasy stands for something simple and radical at once: every person deserves a shoe made for their feet, not the average that fits no one.
Changing anything is hard. But the best things always start small — a seed, a conversation, four people in a room who couldn't stop asking why.
We're planting that seed today. Will you grow it with us?

Built by Engineers, For Real Feet

FITASY is a team of engineers and research scientists from MIT, UW–Madison, and Imperial College — specialists in mobile vision, 3D imaging, and 3D-printing materials. We came out of research labs, not fashion houses. We’ve spent years on the parts most footwear brands outsource or ignore: the scanning pipeline, the digital last, the lattice geometry, the print materials, the iteration loop.

We’re not medical professionals. We don’t write prescriptions. What we’re very good at is customization and 3D technology — and pointing both at a problem the industry has ignored.

“The future of footwear isn’t about more sizes. It’s about understanding every person as unique — and building technology that finally makes that possible”

  • Yujun Wang

    Co-founder & CEO

Yujun leads Fitasy’s mission to make 3D-printed footwear accessible to everyone. With nearly two decades of research and engineering experience in the automotive industry, including at leading consultancy Cummins Inc. and in academia, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he combines deep technical expertise with a vision for data-driven, sustainable manufacturing.

He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Computation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the U.S.

  • Jian Gong

    Co-founder & CTO

Jian oversees Fitasy’s software innovation, focusing on spatial AI, advanced imaging, and 3D printing technologies. Before co-founding Fitasy, he spent over a decade at Cummins Inc., a global leader in automotive engineering and manufacturing, where he advanced human-centered design and computational modeling to solve complex, real-world challenges. Today, he brings the same spirit of innovation to footwear since the human foot is one of the most complex structures in the body, like a combustion engine to a vehicle.
Jian holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin–Madison, U.S.

  • Carl Justin Kamp

    Co-founder & CSO

Justin drives Fitasy’s technology development in lattice and structural design, advanced materials, and 3D-printed footwear. Also an adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii and research scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Justin brings decades of experience in materials science, physics, and engineering from Caltech (LIGO project), Columbia University, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and as a founder of Kymanetics Inc., a physics and materials science research consultancy.

Justin holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Reaction Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, in Sweden.

  • Kevin Wu

    Co-founder & CBO

Kevin Wu heads up Fitasy’s business strategy, global operations, and partnerships with retailers and other key stakeholders. Born in Canada and raised in China, he grew up immersed in sports—from youth international soccer to competitive tennis—always searching for shoes that truly fit, performed well, and looked great. Drawing on his background in venture capital, business development, and computer science—and inspired by a lifelong passion for sport—he’s committed to closing that gap. Kevin holds an MSc in Computer Science from Imperial College London, in the UK.
