Built to Break Expectations
World Record Holder & Olympic Medalist Josh Liendo x FITASY
A path no one had mapped out
A shoe no one had made before.
"My path was never the obvious one — a swimmer who wasn't supposed to reach a world podium, who built a career out of breaking that expectation. From Olympic silver in Paris to a world record. FITASY thinks the same way: using 3D-printed technology to rethink recovery from the ground up."

Forging a new path
The first Black Canadian swimmer to win an Olympic medal.
Josh grew up in a sport where people who looked like him were rarely in the conversation. He didn’t wait for the space to open up — he carved it out himself, and in doing so, opened the door for those who come after him.
“I was never supposed to be the guy on that podium. That’s exactly why I wanted it.”

Why Fitasy
“I was surprised by how comfortable the shoe is, and its design made it perfect for the deck.”
— Josh Liendo
-
Cushioning that doesn’t quit
Unlike traditional foam that loses its shape over time, triple-layer lattice holds its support — as consistent on day 300 as day one.
-
Kinder on the joints
Advanced cushioning absorbs impact before it reaches tired knees and ankles — so recovery starts the moment you step out of training.
-
Recovery, zoned to the individual
Zone-by-zone engineering tunes arch support and cushioning to his exact foot — so every muscle gets the recovery it needs.
“The in-between moments — the deck, the hours on your feet, how your body bounces back — that’s what actually impacts how I perform. That’s where this shoe lives for me.”
Making
Change Together
Footwear is still largely made the way it was in the 1800s. Mass-molded, one-shape-fits-none — overproduced, under- considered, and often made from multiple materials that can rarely be fully separated. Most mass-produced sports shoes are built to be replaced, not recovered — regardless of how long they’ve been worn.
When Josh met the FITASY team, he saw something beyond a traditional partnership. A shared vision for what footwear could be — built around the individual, made without waste.
“Most shoes end up in landfill, while FITASY shoes are designed to get recycled.”
